The course is intended for anyone seriously interested in the functioning of the voice and its application in singing (support, power, vocal stability, timbre, etc.). Inspired by the EVT (Estill Voice Training) method, a system that explains how the voice works and uses it to rehabilitate vocal disorders, strengthen public speakers and support high-level performers, my goal is to make the student more aware of their vocal instrument and more comfortable in their sound emission and singing. We will begin by exploring the source of sound: our body. We will cover breathing and warm-up exercises, and focus on various sound emission techniques to improve voice quality and control.

I have plenty of study method books with a big range of different styles, we will find the ones that you enjoy the most and suit you better and combine it in the right way, to help you improve. Plus work on any music that you personally want to learn, name any song and I will help you learn how to play it! I myself had amazing and terrible music teachers during my learning process and believe me, I know what a difference makes... To really enjoy learning music or just to feel a ‘must study’, is the difference between ‘...I have to’ or ‘I want to!’. I finished a Bachelor and a Master's degree in the Music Conservatory (The Hague) and then spent five years in the jazz scene in New York City, which gave me a very wide experience. Beginners: Start finding the sound of the instrument, where the notes are within all those keys, begin with learning how to read music if you don’t read yet, and find easy and fun songs to play to enjoy the instrument already. I can introduce you to the understanding of basic harmony and theory concepts to help understand better inside music that you are playing. Intermediate: We can get to improve the technique of the instrument, reading skills, get more precision, speed, sound and timing and musical expression. Advance the understanding of harmony, its beauty and its possibilities. If you like to work on improvisation we can get to discover how to enjoy improvising with all the technical tools you already learned in the past and enhance that material according to your taste. If you want to start with playing jazz music I can introduce you to first steps and nice and technically comfortable songs to begin with. Advanced: At an advanced level it’s very important to understand the direction you want to take and what you especially want to improve. However I can help you perfectionate sound and timing, rhythm, vibrato, etc..., work on the accuracy of the reading and at the same time make it sound musical and human. On jazz music and/or improvisation, expand the vocabulary for improvising, the knowledge of harmony, what you can do with the material you know from different perspectives, increase precision and sense of direction when phrasing lines, learn more jazz standards, help on original compositions. And of course share all the better understanding of jazz music I learned during my years in New York City.

Voor leerlingen met al enige ervaring op zangvlak gaan we meer in op verschillende soorten manieren van zingen bijvoorbeeld. kopstem, mixed-voice, emoties tijdens het zingen, microfoontechnieken,... We gaan niet alleen kijken naar de stem maar ook naar 'Hoe sta ik op een podium?' of 'Hoe verminder ik stress?'. Ik ga dus ook kijken naar de mentale en emotionele aspecten. This course is for anyone that's interested to play the saxophone at any level, from the very beginners to students interested in more advanced topics such as improvisation, both in unconventional ways or more founded on the tradition of Jazz. The course will be adapted to the pupils goals and level, with a demanding but not overpowering approach. The frequency and timing of the lessons can also be optimized to the pupil's necessities: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (not less). I believe that the main goal of a mentor should ultimately to make the pupil become his own teacher and establish an empathic two-way learning process.

I focus on giving saxophone lessons to people with a solid or basic foundation who wants to improve or start improvising. This course is especially for those who feel stagnant in improving their music skills. I will actively analyse your areas for improvement and provide personal guidance and methods. I am very aware that each person thinks differently while improvising: personal exercises are given, depending on your needs. Applied music theory lessons are a support of this class. I integrate chord theory into practical saxophone lessons, making a key connection between ear and theory. I started playing classical saxophone, and I am currently a Jazz saxophone student at the conservatory of Brussels. Switching to Jazz made me analyse my own behaviour in improvising, which I find a crucial step in development. Feel free to reach out! I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. Your body is your instrument when singing. We try to make that instrument sound as beautiful as possible by working on sound formation. This allows the vocal cords to move more freely, so that you get tired less quickly when singing. Your voice becomes fuller and you can sing higher and lower notes. During the singing lessons we also work on articulation, the pronunciation of foreign languages and also on the meaning of and your feelings about a particular piece. Of course you decide what kind of music you will sing. Whether you sing alone in the shower or whether you are in a choir and encounter certain difficulties in general or with a specific piece? We can also make a journey of discovery together to your favorite music. WHO CAN LEARN TO SING? Everyone can learn to sing. Because of the singing lessons you will notice that singing becomes easier. Moreover, singing is good for relaxation, both of body and mind. Singing is just enjoying! YOUR OWN INSTRUMENT As a singer you already have one advantage over instrumentalists: you do not have to buy an (expensive) instrument. You always have your instrument with you, but... you have to take good care of your instrument!

I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.

I am a jazz singing student in France, where I stayed after a year of Erasmus. I would like to teach my students the art of singing. It should be fun, with the accompanying technology! Music theory and the more theoretical aspects of music are certainly also possible!

Hello and welcome to my music studio! It is absolutely fabulous that you are interested in music, and I hope you have lots and lots of fun with it! However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in! This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year. Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person, and I aim to transfer that passion to my students.
